A complete copper alloy probable awl or piercing tool, of uncertain dating but probably Post Medieval to Modern (AD 1600 to AD 1800). The probable awl has a circular sectioned shank, with a domed circular head (5.1 mm in diameter), which gradually tapers to a blunt point (1.6 mm in diameter). It measures 51.0 mm in length, and has a maximum diameter of 5.1 mm. It weighs 5.2 g. The probable awl is a mid to darkgreen colour, with an uneven surface patina. The badge is openwork in design, with a central flower design. Two petals of which are present. Each petal has two layers - a top petal and a bottom petal and are convex (domed) in nature. The tips of the petal touch the outer circular rim. From the curvature of the outer rim, it would originally have an a diameter of 5 cm, with 25% of the rim surviving. A complete, but bent, silver bodkin or dress-pin, of Post medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1650). The bodking exhibits an acute 25 degree bend, located around the mid point of the bodkin, resulting in it being folded almost in half. The bodkin has a rectangular sectioned shaft, with bevelled (slightly facetted) edges on both sides. The shaft tapers to a blunt tip. The head of the bodkin has a rounded tip with a small bowl / ear scoop terminal. Three of the arms have tri-lobed terminals with a single rivet hole in the centre of each, one is incomplete. The fourth arm is longer and parallel sided.
