A medieval silver coin of Edward II (1307-27), probably of class 10cf3 (1307-9), minted at Canterbury. The coin is mostly complete, but has been altered in two ways. The coin has been pierced through the top of the obverse above the crown (equating to the base of the long cross of the reverse), possibly in order that the coin could be suspended. In addition, there are small notches seemingly cut from the sides in three places. These are reguarly spaced at approximately 2 o'clock, 5 o'clock, and 8 o'clock (on the obverse).
