The rest of the whistle is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The end cap is flattened, originally it would have been circular in shape. A suspension loop has been set at right angles to the body of the whistle. It has a circular hole, with an internal diameter of 2.5 mm. The body sherd consists of a local miscellaneous (unsourced )jug type fabric, dating from the 11th to 15th Centuries AD. Local jug type fabrics have a frequent fine quartz temper, and a pale fabric. The exterior tends to have a light green glaze. This sherd probably came from a jug type vessel. The sherd measures 5.98 MM thick and weighs 4.0 grams. A rim fragment from a hand made (blown) glass vessel, of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). The fragment consists of a flattened sub oval rim, descending into a narrow circular neck. This fragment probably came from a small jar or ointment vessel. The vessel was probably a mid translucent green colour, but patination on the surface has obscured some of the original vessel coloration. Three incomplete copper alloy rim fragments from probably two copper alloy large posnets or cauldrons of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 - AD 1700). The rim fragments are irregular in plan, but rectangular in cross section. The internal surface is smooth and polished. The rim type consists of a rounded lip. A fragment from a wheelthrown ceramic vessel. The fragment consist of a handle, part of the rim, and part of the body. The handle is 24.9 mm wide, 19.8 mm thick and 93.6 mm in length. The fragment is 94.9 mm long, 116.5 mm wide and 93.6 mm thick. It weighs 153.9 g. The fabric is a hard oxidised fabric, with a frequent quartz (sand) temper, which is suggestive of a Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600). An incomplete sheet copper alloy handle attachment plate, from a skimmer, of Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1450 to AD 1700). The attachment plant has been constructed from two pieces of sheet copper alloy metal, that has been riveted together with rolled sheet copper alloy rivets. The handle is now in four fragments.
