A complete silver stirrup finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). The finger ring has a D shaped hoop. The hoop rises to a flat topped pointed bezel. A gem is set into the bezel with a plain setting. The gem is oval. Under magnification, it is possible to see pitting and a conchoidal fracture in the surface of the gem, suggesting that it is probably glass as opposed to a gemstone. Description: A complete gold finger ring, probably dating to the 15th Century. The finger ring is circular in plan, and D shaped in section. The exterior of the band has been decorated with a black letter inscription of three words, separated by a three petalled leaf. The inscription reads 'tout mon + ceur' ('All my heart'). The edges have been bevelled. The interior bears the following inscription: .I . LIKE . MY . CHOYSE ... . No maker's mark is present. The bezel is unusual, consisting of a concave recess, with an circular sectioned bar mounted above it. Domed terminals are present on either end of the bar. A complete struck / knapped tertiary debitage flake, of probable Neolithic dating (c. 4,000 BC to c. 2, 350 BC). The debitage flake has a trapezoidal cross section, and is sub rectangular in shape. Minimal retouch is present along one of the long edges (short, subparallel, low angle). Faint remains of a bulb of percussion remain on the ventral surface. The flake has been made from a light grey flint, with a high degree of surface patination.
