A complete gold cylindrical artefact with filigree decoration. The artefact is hollow (now filled with soil) and comprises a rectangular gold sheet rolled into a circular shape. An incomplete strip of decorated gold, of probable Bronze Age dating (c. 2150 BC to c. 1150 BC). The strip of gold is sub rectangular in plan, and is folded horizontally (width ways) in half twice, forming a squashed 'S' shape. The strip has been decorated with a series of embossed ridges along its length. The strip has been severed at one end, with a ragged edge. The finds recorded consist of 38.85g of gold and 100.90g of silver, including the 79.13g cheek piece, 5004 . It must be recognised that these figures include both earth and garnets and will be reduced by cleaning and that the descriptions of the metal alloys are based only on visual examination, not analysis. A complete thin circular sectioned gold wire ring, possibly a finger ring, probably of Modern dating (AD 1800 to AD 2000). The gold wire has a diameter of 1.4 mm. No stamps or marks are present on the wire. The ends have been cut. It has been formed into a circular shape with the ends of the wire overlapping by 3.4 mm. It weighs 1.0 g. The circular section of the wire is suggestive of a modern date, and therefore as it is probably less than 300 years old, it falls outside of the remits of the Treasure Act 1996 and should not be considered to be potential Treasure.
