A complete copper alloy double loop oval buckle frame, of late Medieval dating (c. AD 1400 to AD 1600). The pin and strap plate are not present. The front of the buckle has bevelled edges, with probable ropework decoration. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The buckle frame measures 31.0 mm in length, 19.5 mm wide and 3.4 mm thick. It weighs 3.5 grams. The buckle is a mid dark green, with an uneven surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.
