An incomplete copper alloy Wroxeter type brooch of Roman dating (AD 80 to AD 200).
The remains of the brooch consist of the head and bow. The spring, pin, foot and catchplate are missing.
The head has semi-circular wings projecting on either side, with semi-circular wing caps. No spring is present in the recess.

An incomplete copper alloy trumpet-style brooch, of the Roman period (AD 100-200).
The head and upper part of the bow are intact. The loop, pin, spring, foot and catchplate are all missing.
The head is circular in shape, with a single spring loop on the back. The head continues downwards into the bow. A swelling is present at the mid point with a horizontal groove above and below. Beneath the swelling, the remains of the bow have a triangular cross section, with each side bevelled.

An incomplete copper alloy catch plate from a Brooch of Roman dating (AD 43 to 300).
Less than 25% of the brooch is present, consisting of the catch plate only. The rest of the brooch is missing, presumed lost in antiquity.
The catch plate is triangular in shape, and has the lower part of the bow present. The folded rim is missing.
It measures 21.6 mm in length, 3.6 mm wide and 8.5 mm thick. It weighs 0.8 g.
The catch plate is a mid green colour with an even surface patina.
Triangular catch plates are common to many different styles of brooch, mostly likely Roman in date.

Around 50% of the brooch is present. The walls and pin are missing. The brooch comprises a circular base with incomplete angled walls (turned outwards) surrounding it. The base depicts an anthropomorphic face within a concentric raised rib, a central T-shape to represent the nose and brow ridge, and a broad inverted-V below to represent a moustache. A cast copper alloy two piece buckle frame, of Post Medieval dating (1690 - 1720).
The buckle frame is sub-rectangular in plan, and the frame is D-shaped in cross section. In profile, the frame is slightly bowed.
Only the buckle frame is present, the drilled spindle and the chape are no longer present. Two drilled holes, for the spindle, are present located centrally on the long axis of the frame. These holes are filled with iron corrosion products, which are probably the remnants of the iron spindle.

It is D-shaped in plan, and the frame exhibits a D-shape cross section, with the curve on the internal surface. The pin is missing, presumably lost in antiquity. There is no evidence of a pin rest on the curved part of the frame.
