The rim sherd consists of a fabric similar to that known as Severn Valley ware, dating from the 2nd to 4th Centuries AD. The sherd probably originally came from a storage jar type vessel. Three joining rim fragments of a copper alloy vessel, probably of Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). Around 25% of the rim is present, and the diameter was originally 20 cm. The rim of the vessel is rounded everted and there is a wide collar present just below the rim. The inside of the vessel has been silvered or tinned. One rim sherd of a wheel thrown moulded ceramic vessel, of Early Roman dating (Mid to Late 1st Century). The rimsherd is consistent with that of a Samian fabric type, possibly from La Graufesenque in South Gaul, and is consistent with Mid to Late 1st Century dating. The shape of the sherd is consistent with a carinated bowl type such as a Dragendorff type 29. The front of the sherd exhibits moulded and rouletted decoration. A bead rim is present at the top. A rim fragment from a hand made (blown) glass vessel, of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). The fragment consists of a flattened sub oval rim, descending into a narrow circular neck. This fragment probably came from a small jar or ointment vessel. The vessel was probably a mid translucent green colour, but patination on the surface has obscured some of the original vessel coloration. A bodysherd or possible base of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman dating (c. 90 - 150 AD). The sherd is 7.8 mm thick and weighs 5.3 grams. It is 31.7 mm long and 33.8 mm wide The sherd consists of a bodysherd with an oxidised fabric with a red slip. This fabric type is consistent with an imported fine ware from Gaul, known as Samian ware. This pottery type is typically dates from the 1st to 3rd Century AD. A small fragment of blue green vessel glass, of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). The fragment is sub rectangular in shape and flat. Moulded decoration is present in the form of zig zags. An incomplete copper alloy probable vessel or tankard handle, of possible Late Iron Age to Roman dating (100 BC to 200 AD). The probable tankard handle is rectangular in shape, with a flat cross section. Both ends exhibit an old patinated break. The strip curves upwards at one end.
