An incomplete copper alloy rim fragment from a copper alloy large posnets or cauldrons of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 - AD 1700).
The rim fragments are irregular in shape, but rectangular in cross section. The internal surface is smooth and polished. The rim type consists of a rounded lip. The exterior surface is unpolished and shows signs of finishing/filing. Sooting is present on the exterior of a couple of the fragments. An incomplete cast lead alloy vessel of probably Post Medieval date, circa AD1400-1700. The vessel has a sub circular base with a rounded edge. The walls project upwards. The tops of the walls are incomplete. No decoration appears to be present on the walls. One side is folded and crumpled into the middle. The vessel has a mid grey to off-white colour with an uneven patina. A black fibrous material is still present inside the vessel. Height: 25.40mm. Width: 34.62mm. Thickness: 22.78mm. Weight: 30.8g.

The basesherd consists of a local (unsourced) glazed earthenware, with frequent fine quartz inclusions, dating from the 15th to 17th Centuries AD.
The sherd is 7.1 mm thick and weighs 75.2 g. They measure 48.2 mm in length and 80.9 mm wide.

An incomplete handle from a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600).
The handle consists of a local (unsourced) glazed earthenware, with frequent fine quartz inclusions, dating from the 15th to 17th Centuries AD. The handle probably originally came from a jug.
The sherd is 10.9 mm thick and weighs 29.0 g. They measure 52.0 mm in length and 34.0 mm wide.

A basesherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600).
The basesherd consists of a fabric similar to that known as Tudor Green, consistent with 15th to 17th centuries AD dating. Due to the size of the fragment, it is hard to determine the original vessel form, but possibly a bowl.
The sherd is 5.2 mm thick and weighs 7.0 g. It measures 23.9 mm in length and 33.1 mm wide.

The attachment plant has been constructed from two pieces of sheet copper alloy metal, that has been riveted together with rolled sheet copper alloy rivets. The handle is now in four fragments. An incomplete copper alloy foot / leg from a copper alloy cooking vessel of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1700).
The vessel fragment is sub rectangular in plan and sub triangular in cross section. The foot / leg is expanded at the top and curves outward. The remnants of a central rib is present on the interior surface. The interior surface is coated with a black layer, presumably the result of sooting from being within a fire.
It measures 33.4 mm in length, 34.7 mm wide and 12.3 mm thick. It weighs 49.9 grams.

An incomplete cast lead alloy rectangular vessel, of probable Post Medieval dating (16th to 18th Centuries AD).
The vessel is rectangular in plan and profile. The front and side faces has been decorated with a series of ring and dot designs. The back face is plain and undecorated. The top edge of the vessel has been rolled over to create a rounded rim. The base of the vessel now exhibits a hole in the centre, but is otherwise plain and undecorated. The rim fragment has a rectangular cross section. The rim type consists of a bevelled type. This section is possibly from a cooking vessel either a cauldron or posnet (See Fig 1 in Butler, Green and Payne 2009 for examples of the vessel type). The fragment is a dark brown colour, with a fairly smooth surface patina.

An incomplete lead alloy openwork handle, probably from a porringer type vessel, of 17th Century dating.
The handle is trefoil in shape, with sub oval loops forming the shape. It has a flat cross section. The outer edges are bevelled. The reverse is flat and undecorated. A patinated break is present at the base.
It measures 27.2 mm in length, 30.1 mm wide and 4.2 mm thick. It weighs 6.5 g.
The handle is a mid to dark grey colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement while within the plough soil has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.

The leg is sub rectangular in shape, with tapering sides. The upper edge has a broken terminal where the leg would have once attached to the pot. The sides taper to a lower rounded edge. On the outer face is a central moulded rib that runs vertically along the fragment. The opposing face is flat.
