One (1) bodysherd of a wheelthrown ceramic vessel, of Medieval dating (13th to 14th Centuries AD). The sherd is 7.56mm thick and weighs 11.5 grams. It is 39.45mm wide and 36.92mm long. The sherd has an oxidised fabric, with frequent small charcoal like inclusions. Traces of a green glaze with a white slip underneath are present on the exterior of the sherd. It exhibits five double ridges (bands) equally spaced down the length of the bar. Each single ridge is approximately 1.8mm wide. An almost intact cast bronze / copper alloy socketed axe of Late Bronze Age date (1000 - 800 BC). The axe is almost complete (95%), with only a few chips missing from the edge of the blade. The original edge of the blade is not present so it is hard to determine how the blade extended outwards.
