An Incomplete cast copper alloy harness fitting / mount of probable later post medieval date (1600-1700). The mount is broadly sub circular in plan with an incomplete sub rectangular attachment loop at one edge. In profile the mount is domed; convex or C shaped in cross section. The mount would have originally been symmetrical with another sub rectangular attachment on the opposing side. The mount is decorated with a series of openwork cast patterns. At the edge of the mount an incomplete sub-rectangular projection extends. This is fixed to the rim in two places …
