The rim of the vessel is rounded everted and there is a wide collar present just below the rim. The inside of the vessel has been silvered or tinned. This fragment probably came from a small jar or ointment vessel. The vessel was probably a mid translucent green colour, but patination on the surface has obscured some of the original vessel coloration. A complete copper alloy strap fitting or strap slide, of Early Roman dating (1st to 3rd Century AD). The 'strap-slide' has a square-headed and thin platform/ head with slightly irregular and uneven edges. A thin inscribed line running around the edge is the only decoration on the front of the slide. Stratchmarks are present on the front. The underside of this platform is flat and undecorated. A complete cast lead alloy biconvex spindlewhorl which could date from the Roman to Post Medieval periods, AD43-1650. The spindlewhorl has a sub circular central hole positioned off centre with an internal diameter of 6.35mm. The upper face is decorated with four diagonal ridges separating the face into quadrants. The face is decorated with seven circular pellets in an irregular pattern. The lower face is plain. The spindlewhorl has a light grey colour with and even patina. The surface is slightly abraded.
