A complete silver hammered shilling of James I (AD1603-1625). The coin is from the third coinage (AD1619-1625), struck in AD1624. North no 2124. The mint is London. The obverse shows a crowned bust facing right with XII behind the head. Possibly the 6th bust type. Obverse legend reads IACOBVS DG MAG BRI FRETHB REX. The initial mark is a trefoil. The reverse shows a square sheild with no plumes. Reverse legend reads []VE DE[]NXITN[]. Diameter: 30.74mm. Thickness: 0.87mm. Weight: 5.2g. Die axis: 8 o'clock.
