Around 90% of the mount is present, with one of the attachment spikes incomplete.
The mount is heart shaped and domed, with a concave reverse. The base of the heart extends into a trefoil or debased fleur de lys/lis terminal. Incomplete circular apertures are present beneath the lower petals. A faint rectangular collar separates the terminal from from the heart. The reverse is concave and undecorated. A complete copper alloy strap loop / fitting, of Medieval dating (c. AD 1350 - c. AD1450).
The strap loop is sub rectangular in plan, and sub rectangular in cross section. It consists of a trapezoidal frame with moulded decoration on the top surface. The decoration on the top is zoomorphic (animal like) in nature. The animal face has two sub rectangular ears, at the top, above a V-shaped groove, delimitating the top of the head. An incomplete copper alloy mount of Medieval dating (AD 1300 to AD 1500).
The mount is sub circular in shape. The convex front is decorated with diagonal incised lines, either imitating fur or forming the scales of the cone. An incomplete small copper alloy circular sectioned rivet is visible in the centre of the object and sticks out into the concave back.
It measures 12.6 mm in length, 10.6 mm wide and 6.0 mm thick. The rivet has a diameter of 1.8 mm. The mount weighs 1.2 g.
The mount is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina.

An incomplete copper alloy strap fitting / belt hanger, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600).
The strap fitting consist of a sub triangular mount. In plan the mount is comprised of a tapering rectangle with an inward facing chevron shape at one end and a narrowed rectangular backward looping closed hook at the other. The hook is incomplete. The main body has two circular rivet holes on its central axis. The rivet holes have an internal diameter of 2.2 mm. The upper face of the mount has rounded edges and the reverse face is slightly dished.

The artefact was originally constructed of two pieces: a solid upper plate, with projecting basal terminal; and an attached back plate, which is now missing. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap end of Late Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1500).
The strap end has been made in three (3) parts: front and back sheet plates, riveted to a 'U' shaped spacer. The base of the spacer projects as a multiple ridged knop. The top of the front plate has been decorated with a row of four (4) triangles. The edges of the front plate are incomplete. The back plate is plain and undecorated.
The strap end measures 24.92 mm in length, 8.58 mm wide and 3.77 mm thick. It weighs 1.4 g.
The strap end is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina.

The strap end is sub rectangular in shape. It has a split end at the top, which contains some soil and some mineralised textile. The split end has a V shaped top. The fragment consists of a heart shaped terminal, with two circular perforations (holes). Both holes contain the remnants of an iron rivet. Beneath the heart shaped terminal is a moulded rectangular collar, with a horizontal V shaped groove across it as decoration. The remains of the oval sectioned arm is present below the collar.

Both arms of the spur are straight sided, with a D shaped section. Both terminals are complete and consists of a circular end, with two semi circular voids, with the straight edges facing each other.
