A complete wrought copper alloy finger ring, probably of Late Post Medieval to Early Modern dating (19th to 20th Centuries AD). The hoop is D shaped in cross section, being rounded to the external (outside edge). No bezel is present. The internal surface is flat. Traces of a pattern are present, including the word ONE. This would suggest that the finger ring was made from an old one pence piece. No date can be read. The finger ring is a dark green colour, with an even patina covering the majority of the surface. An incomplete cast copper alloy heraldic harness pendant of Medieval dating (14th Century AD). The pendant is of the 'heater' shield shape (a flat top, with sides that curve steeply to a point). The upper edge has an integrally cast suspension loop, which is sub oval in plan and set at right angles (ninety degrees) to the pendant. Medieval coin: A worn cast copper alloy Chinese coin, from the Northern Song dynasty (960 AD to 1127 AD), minted during the Xining reign between 1068 and 1077 AD. Chinese characters (inscription- Xining yuanbao) are only present on the obverse. A square hole (7.60mm by 8.05mm internal dimensions) is present at the centre of the coin. Diameter: 24.00mm Thickness: 1.44mm Weight: 4.1 grams It is doubtful that this is a geninue medieval find (i.e. present in the country due to trade and lost accidentially) but more likely a more recent loss from an curated collection.
