An incomplete moulded clay tobacco pipe bowl and stem of late post-medieval to modern date (late 19th or early 20th century AD). The clay tobacco pipe has been moulded from a white pipeclay. The pipe fragment consists of an almost complete bowl, and part of the stem. The bowl has been moulded with a 'Skull and Cross bones' symbol on both sides. A complete cast lead or lead alloy moulded lid, possibly from a scent bottle, probably of Late Post Medieval - Modern dating (18th to 19th Centuries AD). The lid is sub circular in plan, and semi-circular in cross section. It consists of a domed (convex) lid, with central protruding circular knop, and raised radiating rays extending outwards and downwards. An incomplete sole from a handmade child's shoe, of Early Modern Dating (Late 19th Century) The shape of the sole is similar to a dumbell (two rounded ends, joined together by a narrow waist). It consists of three layers of leather. The leather layers have been joined by thin copper alloy rivets, riveted through the base. The rivets form a line rounding around the edge of the base. A complete wrought copper alloy finger ring, probably of Late Post Medieval to Early Modern dating (19th to 20th Centuries AD). The hoop is D shaped in cross section, being rounded to the external (outside edge). No bezel is present. The internal surface is flat. Traces of a pattern are present, including the word ONE. This would suggest that the finger ring was made from an old one pence piece. No date can be read. The finger ring is a dark green colour, with an even patina covering the majority of the surface. A complete cast copper alloy swaging block, of modern date (c.1890 to 1930 AD). It is semi-circular in plan and consists of a cast of the upper jaw (maxilla) from an adult. The teeth present are (from right to left): PM2, PM1, I2, I1, C, PM1, PM2, M1. This means that the denture would have false teeth for the right canine, and left lateral & central incisors. The swaging block measures 41.38mm in height, 51.10mm wide and 32.04mm thick. It weighs 313.1 grams. Swaging blocks were used as part of the manufacture of dental plates. A complete blown / hand made trilobed blue glass bead, of Modern dating (19th to 20th Centuries AD). It has been made from a blue/white variegated (stripy) glass, with small central perforation. The bead is trilobed in plan, with rounded flanges. The bead measures 14.60mm tall, and 13.23mm wide. The central perforation has an internal diameter of 1.31mm. It weighs 2.7 grams. The shape of the bead is characteristic of the Art Deco style, which started during the mid 19th Century and carried on in popularity until around the 1960s.
