A complete gold possible finger ring, of probable Post Medieval to Modern dating (AD 1700 to AD 1900). The possible finger ring is rectangular in section and would have originally been circular in plan. It is now sub oval in plan. The hoop has been decorated with eight circular pits (now full of soil), that may have originally held something. Each pit has a diameter of 1.5 mm. Multiple vertical filemarks are present on the interior surface of the ring. The original diameter of the ring can not be determined due to it being misshapen. Hallmarks and a maker's mark are present on the inside of the finger ring. The hallmarks consist of a lion rampart, an anchor, the date letter and a duty mark. A complete thin circular sectioned gold wire ring, possibly a finger ring, probably of Modern dating (AD 1800 to AD 2000). The gold wire has a diameter of 1.4 mm. No stamps or marks are present on the wire. The ends have been cut. It has been formed into a circular shape with the ends of the wire overlapping by 3.4 mm. It weighs 1.0 g. The circular section of the wire is suggestive of a modern date, and therefore as it is probably less than 300 years old, it falls outside of the remits of the Treasure Act 1996 and should not be considered to be potential Treasure.
