The die matrix is oval in shape, The upper surface creates a cone like shape, with no facets. The lower face is flat, with two reversed initials visible, with a vertical line separating them. An incomplete copper alloy Wroxeter type brooch of Roman dating (AD 80 to AD 200). The remains of the brooch consist of the head and bow. The spring, pin, foot and catchplate are missing.  The head has semi-circular wings projecting on either side, with semi-circular wing caps. An incomplete copper alloy catch plate from a Brooch of Roman dating (AD 43 to 300). Less than 25% of the brooch is present, consisting of the catch plate only. The rest of the brooch is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The catch plate is triangular in shape, and has the lower part of the bow present. The folded rim is missing. It measures 21.6 mm in length, 3.6 mm wide and 8.5 mm thick. It weighs 0.8 g. The catch plate is a mid green colour with an even surface patina. Triangular catch plates are common to many different styles of brooch, mostly likely Roman in date.
