The possible buckle exhibits two biting animal heads, possibly dolphins, grasping a ball or egg shaped object between their jaws. A complete cast copper alloy double looped sub trapezoidal buckle of Post Medieval dating (c. AD 1600 - AD 1700). The buckle frame is sub rectangular / trapezoidal in plan, with concave sides. The front of the buckle exhibits moulded floral decoration, with lozenges at the corners and rouletted ridges between the flowers at the centre of each side. An incomplete cast copper alloy double looped oval (spectacle) buckle frame of Post Medieval dating (AD 1550 to AD 1650). Approximately 50% of the buckle frame is present. The pin and the buckle plate are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle frame, of Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1750). Approximately 5-10% of the buckle frame is present. The buckle plate and pin are missing, presumed lost in antiquity, with the rest of the frame. The frame fragment is trapezoidal in plan and rectangular in section. The front of the buckle frame has recessed foliate moulded decoration. The reverse is plain. The buckle frame fragment measures 21.56 mm in length, 9.08 mm wide and 2.85 mm thick. It weighs 2.7 g. It measures 14.65 mm in length, 23.33 mm wide and 3.07 mm thick. It weighs 1.6 g. The buckle is a dark brown colour, with an even surface patina. The style of buckle is consistent with Post medieval dating (AD 1720 to AD 1790s).

The buckle is sub rectangular in plan, with a moulded probable rectangular knop on the inside edge of the frame over the spindle hole. An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of Post Medieval date, circa AD1550-1650. Approximately 50% of the buckle survives, the pin is present but there is no plate. A double looped oval buckle with a moulded floral decoration on the loop and at either end of the strap bar. Decoration is in the form of acorns. Pin formed from sub-triangular strip of sheet copper alloy wrapped around the bar. The buckle has a dark green colour with an abraded patina. Length: 40.84mm. Width: 54.59mm. Thickness: 4.55mm. Weight: 9.0g. A comparable example recorded in Whitehead:1996, page 66, no 406.
