An incomplete fragment of gold of uncertain function and form. The fragment of gold is sub rectangular in plan and flat. Facets are present on both surfaces, suggesting that it has been hammered, they create an almost cross like shape. It measures 9.0 mm in length, 7.6 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick. It weighs 0.6 g. As the original function and form can not be determined from this small fragment, it is undiagnostic of age and can not be proven to be older than 300 years. A complete hollow gold bead of uncertain dating, probably Post Medieval to Modern (AD 1800 to AD 1900). The bead is spherical. Several small sub triangular depressions are present around the mid point, possibly teeth marks. A circular perforation, with an internal diameter of 1.3 mm is present top and bottom.  It has a diameter of 7.1 mm and is 7.0 mm long. It weighs 0.6 g. The intaglio was possibly engraved but due to damage caused by movement in the plough soil, any engraving is hard to determine. The ends have been solded together. Due to post depositional pressure, the finger ring is no longer circular, but more ovoid (egg) shaped. The exterior is plain. The interior bears the following inscription: A FRENDS GIFT. Small crosses have been used as punctuation marks. Due to being mishappen, the original diameter is hard to determine, but probably was around 19 mm. Internal diameter is around 17 mm. The hoop is 2.99 mm wide and 1.01 mm thick. It weighs 1.7 g. The finger ring is a dark yellow colour, with an even shiny surface patina.
