An almost intact cast bronze / copper alloy socketed axe of Late Bronze Age date (1000 - 800 BC). The axe is almost complete (95%), with only a few chips missing from the edge of the blade. A fragment of a copper alloy object, probably part of an axehead of Bronze Age date (c. 2500-800 BC). The fragment is likely of the blade end of the axehead with a transverse break across the body. The surviving section of the blade is crescent shaped and the object is triangular in profile, narrowing evenly from 4.89mm thick at the break to 0.96mm thick just before the edge of the blade.
