Approximately 50% of the finger ring is present, consisting of the bezel, shoulders and part of the hoop. The rest of the hoop is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The bezel is sub rectangular in plan. The device consists of male head, wearing a hat and long beard, facing left (possibly an Arab or a Saracen) within an oval cartouche. A complete silver stirrup finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). The finger ring has a D shaped hoop. The hoop rises to a flat topped pointed bezel. A gem is set into the bezel with a plain setting. The gem is oval. Under magnification, it is possible to see pitting and a conchoidal fracture in the surface of the gem, suggesting that it is probably glass as opposed to a gemstone. It consists of a plain wide flat hoop, with a raised square bezel. The bezel measures 5.53 mm in length, 4.97 mm wide and extends 1.9 mm above the hoop.
