An incomplete lead or lead alloy, possible vat or tank, of uncertain dating but possibly Early Medieval (AD 750 to AD 1000). Around 50% of the vat or tank is present. None of the sides are complete. The base is incomplete with several holes and repair marks. The base now has a ripple effect, due to being found on a cobbled stream bed. No decoration appears to be present on either side. An incomplete copper alloy probable foot / leg from a copper alloy cooking vessel of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 - AD 1700). The probable vessel fragment is sub rectangular in shape and sub triangular in cross section. The foot / leg is flat on one surface, and curved on the other. A concave surface is present at the top of the leg, this is the remains of the inside of the cauldron or cooking vessel. It measures 25.4 mm in length, 33.0 mm wide and 23.2 mm thick. A complete lead alloy vessel repair (pot mend) of Roman to Post Medieval dating (AD 43 to AD 1700). The vessel repair is irregular in plan and cross section. It consists of two sub oval 'plugs' of lead either side (sandwiching) a sherd of pottery (now missing). The repair would have originally been 'H' shape in construction, with a central rivet and two radiating arms either side of the ceramic vessel, to seal the hole and repair the broken vessel. Six Roman pottery sherds found in the same area. One is a body sherd of samian, decorated with a moulded dog or wolf running right. It is from either a Dragondorf 29 or 37 bowl (weight 3.3 grams). It dates from the first to third century AD. A second sherd of samian is from a mortarium, either a Dragondorf 43 or 45. It dates from the second to third centuries AD and is probably from East Gaul (weight 9.4 grams). A complete cast copper alloy vessel foot, of Roman dating (1 - 410 AD). The mount is irregular in plan, and cross section. It is of a peltate shape, with each peak being bifurbicated (split) by a V shaped groove. Each tip curves away from the groove. The front is plain and undecorated (apart from the grooves). The back is hollow, with a thick outer rim. It is a mid to dark green colour, with an patchy but even surface patina.
