An incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting or belt mount, of probable Post Medieval dating (c. 1600 to 1800 AD onwards). The strap fitting is circular in plan, but due to soil pressure, is now displaying a lateral warping. It was probably originally flat or slightly domed. In cross section, it is D shaped. The top of the loop still retains the remains of the iron attachment hook.
