An incomplete copper alloy domed button of Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1600). Around 50% of the button is present, consisting of the domed head. The shank is missing. The domed head is undecorated apart from a concentric circle around the base of the head. The back is flat. A scar is present where the shank should have been. It has a diameter of 17.9 mm and is 11.2 mm thick. It weighs 11.1 g. The button is a dark green colour with an even surface patina. Some iron corrosion products are present on the surface.

An incomplete silvered copper alloy button, of the North Hampshire Militia, dating from between 1757 and 1831. Around 90% of the button is present, missing only the loop on the reverse. The button is circular in shape, with a flat cross section. The front face bears a central sexfoil flower head, probably a rose, with the words NORTH above and HANTS below. An incomplete silvered lead alloy, probable button, of uncertain dating but probably Post Medieval (AD 1600 to AD 1800). Approximately 25-50% of the button survives. It is sub oval in shape. The front depicts a long cross with rouletted edges. Traces of silvering survive in the recess. The back bears no design or feature. It measures 21.4 mm in length, 15.6 mm wide and 3.3 mm thick. It weighs 3.4 g. No direct parallel to this fragment was found at the time of recording. The style of the cross is more suggestive that it could be a button but this identification is not definite.
