An incomplete heavily worn Roman Republican silver denarius of Octavian (Caius Caesar), dating to 42 BC (Reece Period 1), showing a helmeted bust of Mars right / legionary eagle flanked by two standards. possibly of Octavian (32 BC to AD 14). RRC p. 513, no. 497/3. This is quite a scarce issue with c. 30 obverse and c. 33 reverse dies recorded.
