A complete cast lead seal matrix, of Medieval date (c. 1250 - c.1350 AD). The seal matrix has a circular die, with a large D-shaped lug on the reverse. This is rectangular in cross-section and has an off-centre sub-circular perforation, diameter 2.52mm. No marks appears to be visible to aid orientation of the die. The die depicts four leaves arranged in an quatrefoil design, surrounded by a grooved border and then the legend around the edge. Each leaf consists of five diagonal petals or leaves. An incomplete cast lead or lead alloy stopper from a small vessel, probably of Post Medieval to Early Modern dating (16th to 19th Centuries AD). The stopper consists of a semi-circular head, with integrally cast shank beneath. The head measures 21.03mm wide (diameter) by 15.42mm in length and 6.60mm thick. The shank extends beneath the head by 6.25mm. It is incomplete. It has a circular cross section, with a diameter of 6.76mm. It weighs 19.7 grams. The other end exhibits knife cut facets, tapering to a point. It has been folded in half. It measures 27.30 mm in length, 29.12 mm wide and 7.80 mm thick. It has a diameter of 7.04 mm. It weighs 24.0 g. It is a mid grey colour, with an even surface patina.
