A complete lead alloy unifaced token, of Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1800). The token is sub circular in shape. The obverse depicts a raised long cross, with outward facing semi circles in each quarter (Powell type 14). The reverse is plain and undecorated. A rectangular piercing is present, located just off the centre, at 5 o'clock on the obverse. The token has a diameter of 23.5 mm, and is 2.8 mm thick. It weighs 7.6 g. Approximately a quarter of the device survives, and consists of several letters of the inscription running clockwise around the edge of the device, surrounding the central design. The surviving part of the design consists of a lower curled petal, probably the lower leaf of a fleur de lys / lis. It is possible to read the letter D as part of the inscription. The lead shot is spherical in nature, displaying a couple of nicks and a small ridge, probably the remnants of the casting process. It is a mid grey to white colour with an even surface patina. It has a diameter of 14.96mm and weighs 18.1 grams. Shot of this type and weight are normally attributed to use with muskets, and of 17th Century dating onwards.
