A rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic samian vessel, of Roman dating (AD 40 to AD 120). The sherd consists of a rimsherd of a samian vessel, possibly from La Graufesenque in South Gaul, consistent with early Roman dating. No enough survives of the rim to estimate original diameter, but it is probably from a cup. The rim type is that of a upright flat. The sherd is 4.9 mm thick and weighs 1.2 g. The sherd consists of a rimsherd, in a fabric is similar to that of local (unsourced) frequent fossil shell type, consistent with Late Iron Age to Roman dating.
