A rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic samian vessel, of Roman dating (AD 40 to AD 120).
The sherd consists of a rimsherd of a samian vessel, possibly from La Graufesenque in South Gaul, consistent with early Roman dating. No enough survives of the rim to estimate original diameter, but it is probably from a cup. The rim type is that of a upright flat.
The sherd is 4.9 mm thick and weighs 1.2 g. It has a length of 13.1 mm and is 16.7 mm wide.

A body sherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Roman dating (1st to 2nd Centuries AD).
The sherd consists of a samian fabric of Dragendorff 30, possibly from La Graufesenque of 1st to 2nd century AD. The form type is consistent with a cylindrical bowl, such as that classified as a Dragendorff form 30. The remains of a moulded decorative panel is present on the obverse, consisting of a figure beneath an arch. The figure is holding their hands over a column and a beaded column, with five leaves at the top is present between the arches.

Six Roman pottery sherds found in the same area.
One is a body sherd of samian, decorated with a moulded dog or wolf running right. It is from either a Dragondorf 29 or 37 bowl (weight 3.3 grams). It dates from the first to third century AD.
A second sherd of samian is from a mortarium, either a Dragondorf 43 or 45. It dates from the second to third centuries AD and is probably from East Gaul (weight 9.4 grams).
The third is a local white ware mortaria, possibly Hartshill / Mancetter (Warwickshire) as that is a major mortarium production site in the region. …
