A bodysherd/fragment of a wheelthrown salt glazed ceramic vessel. The sherd is 8.25mm thick and weighs 34.8g. It is 68.02mm long and 45.62mm wide. The internal diameter of the sherd is 7cm wide. The sherd consists of a neck fragment, most likely from a jug, in a light grey stoneware fabric. The exterior surface is a dark brown mottled colour with a salt glaze (orange peel glaze) with either an embossed or applied face decoration. A rimsherd of a wheelthrown iron glazed ceramic vessel. The sherd is 7.33mm thick and weighs 30.1g. It is 28.84mm long and 51.04mm wide. The sherd consists of a rim sherd, most likely from a large storage jar, in a dark brown, iron rich fabric with white calcium inclusions. Both the interior and exterior surfaces are a shiny dark reddy brown colour and have been glazed with an iron rich glaze. Two (2) incomplete fragment of two clay tobacco pipes bowl of late Post Medieval date (c.1660-1680). The first pipe fragment consists of part of the bowl and the heel. It measures 33.36mm high, 30.15mm in length, and 10.13mm wide. The heel length is 11.61mm. The bore diameter is 3.65mm. It weighs 5.6 grams. The bowl style is similar to Oswald's type 2 and dates from c.1660 to c.1680 (Oswald, 1975). No maker's marks are present. The second pipe fragment consists of the heel and part of the stem. An incomplete moulded clay tobacco pipe, of Post Medieval dating (Late 17th Century AD). The clay tobacco pipe has been moulded from a white pipeclay. The pipe fragment consists of an almost complete bowl. A horizontal line is present, running parallel to the rim edge. The rim of the bowl has been damaged.
