An incomplete clay pipe (smoking) of early to mid seventeenth century AD dating (AD 1620 to AD 1660). Most of the bowl survives, but the rim is incomplete. A horizontal line is present just below the rim. The bowl is slightly bulbous and curves upwards at an angle of 45 degrees. A circular foot is present but incomplete, no maker's marks are visible. The information within this report is taken from information provided by MrRexKey of Broseley Pipe Museum to which sincere thanks are extended. It is similar to David Atkinson's Broseley Type 5A classification, with an oval tailed heel, dated to c. 1680-1720. It is not of Broseley manufacture.
