An incomplete clay pipe (smoking) of early to mid seventeenth century AD dating (AD 1620 to AD 1660).
Most of the bowl survives, but the rim is incomplete. A horizontal line is present just below the rim. The bowl is slightly bulbous and curves upwards at an angle of 45 degrees. A circular foot is present but incomplete, no maker's marks are visible. Part of the stem is present. The bowl and stem are still full of soil.
It measures 39.3 mm in length, 31.5 mm tall and the bowl has a maximum diameter of 17.7 mm. The stem has a diameter of 8.7…

An incomplete ceramic bi convex decorated spindle whorl, of probably the Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1100 to AD 1450.
The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and lentoid in section. Neither face seems to be decorated. The central hole is circular in shape and has been cast / set roughly centrally. It has a internal diameter of 7.6 mm. The outer edges have been damaged. The ceramic appears to have a high quartz (sand) content and highly oxidised.
The whorl measures 33.9 mm in diameter and 15.2 mm thick. It weighs 15.9 g (0.56 oz).

The sherd is 7.8 mm thick and weighs 5.3 grams. It is 31.7 mm long and 33.8 mm wide
The sherd consists of a bodysherd with an oxidised fabric with a red slip. This fabric type is consistent with an imported fine ware from Gaul, known as Samian ware. The clay tobacco pipe has been moulded from a white pipeclay.
The pipe fragment consists of a complete bowl, foot and start of the stem. A maker's mark has been stamped into the foot. The mark contains the letters RI inside a circular cartouche. The shape of the bowl is similar to that of an Oswald type 6 (Oswald, 1975, 37), typically of 17th Century dating.

An incomplete clay pipe (smoking) of early to mid seventeenth century AD dating (AD 1620 to AD 1660).
Most of the bowl survives, but the rim is incomplete. The bowl is slightly bulbous and curves upwards at an angle of 45 degrees. A circular foot is present with a maker's mark depicting the initials HH within a beaded border. Only a small part of the stem survives.
It measures 57.2 mm in length, 27.0 mm tall and the bowl has a maximum diameter of 19.2 mm. The stem has a diameter of 9.3 mm and the bore hole has an internal diameter of 2.4 mm. The foot measures 11.5 mm long by 11.…
