An incomplete wheel thrown ceramic Chicken Feeder of Post Medieval dating (18th to 19th Centuries AD).
The chicken feeder is circular in plan, with three vertical concentric partitions on the front face and a flat base. It has a diameter of 16cm, is 4.2cm tall and the base is 1.1cm thick. It weighs 700 grams. The internal partitions are 0.82cm thick. The fabric consists of an oxidised matrix, with occasional mica and red clay inclusions, similar to a flower pot type earthenware, most consistent with an local (unsourced) fabric type, of 18th to 19th Century dating.

The fragment consists of a piece of hypocaust flue tile, with combing present on the upper surface.

A rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic samian vessel, of Roman dating (AD 40 to AD 120).
The sherd consists of a rimsherd of a samian vessel, consistent with early Roman dating. No enough survives of the rim to estimate original diameter, but it is probably from a cup. The rim type is that of a beaded rim.
The sherd is 6.3 mm thick and weighs 7.6 g. It has a length of 30.4 mm and is 29.7 mm wide.

The sherd consists of a rimsherd, in a fabric is similar to that of local (unsourced) frequent fossil shell type, consistent with Late Iron Age to Roman dating.
