One rim sherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Roman dating (2nd to 4th Centuries AD).
The rim sherd consists of a fabric similar to that known as a local miscellaneous (unsourced) greyware, dating from the 2nd to 4th Centuries AD. The sherd probably originally came from a storage jar type vessel.
The sherd measures 6.9 mm thick and weighs 51.8 grams. It measures 43.6 mm in length and 85.4 mm wide.

A rimsherd of a handmade ceramic vessel.
The sherd is 13.3 mm thick and weighs 53.6g. It is 44.4 mm long and 56.7 mm wide.
The sherd consists of a rimsherd, in a fabric similar to that published as SH1 (Standard common fossil shell type) in McSloy 2006, p 38, dated to Middle to Late Iron Age (500 BC to 100 AD) but with occasional small annular metamorphic rock inclusions.
