A fragment of a post Medieval stoneware rim sherd with a horizontal ridge. Possibly a Raeren-type, or possibly an Aachen-type (1300 - 1800). A wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is hard fired with a grey core and brownish yellow inner and outer surfaces (Munsell Colour: 10YR 6/6). Above the ridge there is a line of impressed marks forming an abstract design that vaguely resembles letters. The distance between the rounded rim and the rib is 22.2mm. It is estimated the outer diameter of the rim would have been c. 60.0mm when complete. The breaks are sharp. 43.0 x 39.9 x 6.8mm. W…
