The tile fragment is sub triangular in plan, with a shallow curved cross section. The ceramic fabric is oxidised (orangey red colour), with frequent large grog & metamorphic rock inclusions.

A complete Roman ceramic spindle whorl (AD 43- 409).
This spindle whorl is sub-circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. A slightly off-centre circular hole has a diameter of c. 4.1mm. Close to the edge, another hole with a similar diameter does not fully penetrate the fabric.
It is made from locally produced Vectis Ware and curvature indicates that it is from the body of a vessel, rather than the base.
The edges are abraded.

The handles have been made from a local (unsourced) glazed earthenware, with frequent fine quartz inclusions, dating from the 13th to 16th Centuries AD. The handles probably originally came from three separate jugs. The handles each exhibit either stab or slash decoration. The middle sherd has patches of a light green glaze on the exterior.

An incomplete glazed ceramic floor tile, of later medieval dating (13th to 15th Centuries AD).
Approximately 40% of the tile is present and consists of a orangey red oxidised ceramic tile with a patchy light green transparent glaze covering a stamped and infilled design in white clay. The glaze extends down the original edges. The floor tile would probably have been square in shape. Three original edges survive.
