An incomplete cast copper alloy scabbard chape of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval Dating (Late 15th to 16th Centuries AD).
The chape is broadly an irregular U shape in plan and irregular in cross section. The front consists of a semi oval shape, with a central longtitudinal rib. The back retains traces of a cast ridge, following the external edge, probably for attachment of a back piece.
