An incomplete Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type brooch of Roman dating (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 4.a-4.b, Plate 46, AD c. 50-400). Approximately 50% of the brooch is present, consisting of bow and wings. The pin, spring and foot are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The copper alloy brooch has semi-cylindrical wings. The wings are undecorated. The bowhead is hump-like in profile with a moulding on either side. The head and bow was probably undecorated. An incomplete copper alloy casket mount, of Medieval dating (AD 1150 to AD 1300). The mount is formed by a long slender rectangle which has a moulded terminals. The terminal is in the form of an elongated knop protruding from the side of a moulded sub circular platform which has a rivet hole in the centre, still containing a rivet. A curved incomplete hook extends from the lower knop. Below each rivet hole there is a moulded narrowed collar. The body of the mount is otherwise undecorated and is sub-triangular in section.
