A complete modern copy of a gold uninscribed stater of the Southern Region / Belgae, c. 60-20 BC, 'Cheriton Smiler' type. Obverse: Wreath split by three corded lines, leading to 'turf cutter'. An incomplete replica of a silver struck / hammered cut half penny of Edward I (AD 1279 to AD 1307) through to Edward III (AD 1327 to AD 1377). [ ]SWELL ON[ ] reverse type depicting a voided short cross with four joined pellets in each quarter. Mint uncertain. This replica coin is imitating the sterling pennies of Edward I-III, albeit using a reverse type consistent with the short cross pennies issued between the reigns of Henry II (AD 1180 to AD 1247). A complete cast copper alloy coin (falus), of Modern dating (19th Century). The coin is sub circular in plan. The remnants of the casting sprues are still present to either side of the coin and have not been completely filed away. Both the obverse and reverse exhibit embossed (raised) designs. A star formed of two interlocking equilateral triangles (a Star of David) is present on the obverse. A pellet is present in the centre of the star.
