An incomplete copper alloy, probable miniature terret ring of probable Late Iron Age to Early Roman dating (100 BC to 100 AD). The terret ring is of an unusual shape, being of a pointed oval shape. The sides have a circular cross section. A narrowed and recessed bar is present at the bottom of the terret ring. Circular collars are present at either side of the strap bar. The sides of the terret initially curve away from the strap bar, but then curve back together, where they join in a point. The top of this point exhibits an old, predepositional break. A rimsherd of a handmade ceramic vessel. The sherd is 13.3 mm thick and weighs 53.6g. It is 44.4 mm long and 56.7 mm wide. An incomplete copper alloy terret, of Late Iron Age dating (c. 300 BC - AD 100). Around 25% of the terret is present, the rest presumed lost in antiquity. The hoop of the terret is lentoid in cross section and originally the object would have been D-shaped in shape. The terret has an incomplete narrowed strap bar. No decoration is present at the junction between the ring and the strap bar, or on the ring itself. It measures 18.19 mm in length, 25.51 mm wide and 8.35 mm thick. It weighs 7.1 g.
