An incomplete cast copper alloy fragment from a Great Square Headed Brooch, of Early Medieval dating (AD 500 to AD 570). The artefact consists of the top right corner of a square mount, with a sub square head above it. Within the square section, the decoration suggests feet or feathers, but the original design is hard to identify. The head has almond shaped eyes, with sub circular pupils within them.
