A fragment of a worn copper alloy Roman finger ring, of Guiraud Type 4f (similar to Henig Type II) and dating from the third to early fifth century AD. The finger ring has a round hoop and a large circular bezel, which has a recess for a stone or paste insert (intaglio) which is now missing.

A complete cast copper alloy vulva mount dating to the Roman period. These mounts were used as small equine strap decorations. The mount consists of a single cast plate and two rivets. On the surface of the mount there is a raised oval boss with an incised longitudinal line. The integral backing plate is the standard rounded shield-shaped hexagon. Extending out from the reverse are two attachment rivets. The reverse of the mount is concave. The mount dates to the 2nd and 3rd Century AD. See: Appels and Laycock, p125.

A fragment of a copper alloy pin dating to the Roman period. The pin has a circular section, tapering to a point at the lower end and terminating in an old worn break at the top. Before the break are two narrowed collars creating a raised circumferential ridge between.An expanded or decorative head is likely to have extended from above the second narrowed collar, now lost due to the worn break.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy strap mount of 16th or early 17th century date. The mount is triangular with a double lobed top, giving it an elongated shape similar to a heart. It has a rounded knop terminal at the bottom, with two lightly incised bands around the width of the terminal. The reverse is plain and has two integral attachment spikes, both bent in the direction of the terminal knop. It is 25.1mm long, 10.2mm wide, 5.47mm in thickness including the spikes and weighs 2.07g. Noel Hume (1972: 240, 242) suggests that small mounts of this form with double pointed prongs were …

A Medieval cast copper alloy bar mount. The mount is made of two terminal circles joined in the middle with a wide rectangular bar. Each circle has a large central circular hole. It is D-shaped in section with a flat back. The front and reverse bear traces of gilding, there is no evidence for gilt in the sides of the circular holes at either end. It measures 17.0mm long, 7.0mm wide and 2.3mm in thickness and weighs 1.02grams. It is paralleld by SOM-287485 on this database and an example published by Egan and Pritchard, (1991: 214), no. 1148 which they date from 1150-1450 AD.
