Fragment of a wheel-thrown vessel dating to the Post Medieval period. The fragment forms most of the handle with some body sherd attached. It is of a hard orange-brown fabric with irregularly sorted, large rounded mica inclusions. The outer surfaces of the handle are slipped in white with the remains of a dark-gray glaze present in patches. The handle would have belonged to a pipkin, or cooking vessel. Dimensions: 123.8mm long, 23.9mm in width and weighs 95.29g.

Fragment of a leather shoe dating from the Medieval to Post Medieval periods. The fragment is part of the sole of the shoe and is from the heel. The outer edges bear stitch holes, irregularly spaced. The surface is covered with irregular holes and it is not clear as to whether these are stitching holes or post depositional wear and damage. The toe and rest of the sole sections of the sole are missing due to old breaks and the sides of the shoe also do not survive. Dimensions: length: 57.2mm; width: 64.2mm; weight: 4.55g.

A fragment of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, dating to the Post Medieval period. The fragment is a salt-glazed body sherd with a hard and gritty light grey coloured stoneware fabric with no visible inclusions. The exterior surface is decorated with a dark reddish-brown slip with hand-applied decoration featuring two circumferential incisions and stamped four-petalled flowers. The interior appears burnished or clear-glazed. The fragment is 41.1mm long, 18.3mm wide, 7.9mm thick and weighs 7.3g. Salt-glazed stonewares really became popular in Britain from the early 17th Century onwards.…

Complete copper alloy annular brooch dating to the Medieval period. The brooch is annular, circular in section and is broken at one point of the frame, possibly where the pin constriction was once located. The pin survives and is formed of a copper alloy wire, circular in section, bent around the frame. The brooch measures 14.8mm in diameter and 2.1mm in thickness. The pin is 14.1mm in length and 5.2mm in diameter around the frame. It weighs 0.83g.

A Post Medieval copper alloy Nuremberg jetton struck by Hans Schultes III, master between 1608 and 1612 AD. The obverse displays an imperial orb surmounted by cross patty within a tressure of three arches. The reverse displays a male bust in turban facing right. As Mitchener (1988, pg. 413), no. 1416. The jetton has been doubly pierced at 1pm and singly at 4pm, indicating re-use as a pendant, button or similar.

A probable bone or ivory dice, dating to the Post Medieval period (16th - 18th centuries). The dice is a broadly uniform cube with drilled pits forming the numbers on each face. The pits are arranged so that 1 opposes 6, 2 opposes 5 and 3 opposes 4, with each opposing set totalling 7, a convention found on die from the Medieval period and later (Egan, 1997). Stem fragment from a late post-medieval clay smoking pipe. A small part of the bowl survives at one end whilst the stem has suffered an old lateral break part way along the length. The stem now measures 57.1mm in length, 13.5mm in width at the bowl fragment end and 7.25mm in diameter at the break. The inner diameter measures c. 1.7mm and the fragment weighs 4.28g.
