Fragment of copper alloy medieval finger ring depicting a castle on an oval bezel in incised lines. The ring has a broken circular hoop with a D-shaped section, flat on the inner side and slightly convex on the outer. It widens and thickens gradually at the plain shoulders to the large, flat, oval bezel. An incomplete, flint transverse arrowhead, pale grey in colour.
A thin sub-triangular flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with the bulb at the wide end of the ventral surface. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect which appears to have followed the edge of the object (along two sides). Extensive wear on the dorsal side. Suggested date: Late Neolithic c.2700-2350 BC.

Ceramic fragment of a vessel handle.
Rectilinear in plan with four ridges spanning length ways along the handle. The ceramic is off-white in colour with a green mottled glaze on both sides of the handle. The inner material is a grey hue, no inclusions but with some very small air holes.

One annular blue glass bead, Early Medieval in date.
It has been squashed but retains the small central hole running through. It is blue with darker shades striping through the centre of the bead. The bead appears to have been damaged during production as it is out of shape and also has small hollows missing, probably air bubbles.

The blue bead is sub-rectangular in plan with a circular perforation in the middle that indicates its use to be hung on a thread. One end is broken so it is not even.

Roman grey ware body sherd.
Sub-rectilinear in plan with all edges broken. The fabric is grey with some inclusions, the two surfaces are darker than the inner fabric. The thickest side measures 9.39mm, tapering to 6.21mm. This thickening is where the sherd meets the rim but very little remains. The outer face has two lines, forming an upside down L which have been scratched into the surface, revealing the lighter coloured fabric. This may be deliberate decoration or could be plough damage.

It is irregular in plan (almost trapezoidal) and is broken along all edges. Running horizontally is a raised rounded ridge, which would probably have run around the whole pot as decoration, this is the outer face.

A complete, cast lead probable a spindle whorl dating from the early medieval period, about c.AD 500-1000. The whorl is made of a plano-convex whorl approaching a conical form viewed in profile with one larger and one smaller flat side. The central aperture follows the shape of the whorl, and is narrower at the top (apex end) at 1.59 mm diameter, than the bottom (2.06 mm diameter). The object has a height of 7.34 mm, a basal diameter of 11.71 mm, and weighs 7.89g.

An incomplete cast, copper-alloy medieval buckle dating to the 13th-15th century AD. This buckle has an oval frame with a narrowed and offset bar with rectangular lobes at the end of the bar. The outside edge is ornate with projecting sub-rectangular mouldings both side of a projecting pointed pin rest. Pin is missing.

An incomplete, cast copper-alloy Roman hinged dolphin brooch, dating to the 1st century AD. Extending from the cylindrical wings is the bow that tapers to a knop. The brooch is fairly corroded and battered and only decoration on the bow survives - which is decorated with a raised, central ridge and flanking ridges following the sides of the bow. On the reverse, only part of the catchplate survives.

A late Iron Age silver coin, possibly a fractional unit or contemporary copy struck in the North East dating to the period c. 20-10 BC.
The coin is dished, decorated on both sides. The obverse is convex and is decorated with an abstract petal motif. The motif comprises a central circle with four oval petals evenly spaced around its perimeter. In the centre of the circle is an inverted 'S'-shaped motif. In each petal is a pellet.
