A cast copper-alloy early medieval strap end, Thomas Class A, Type 1 Trewhiddle style dating to c.AD 800-900. A corroded iron slide key, similar to Manning (1985) Type 2 of Roman date The key handle is solid and rectangular in cross-section. At one end is a large circular perforation intended as a suspension loop. The bit of the key projects in the same plane as the bow and it is missing its teeth.  The key measures 67.07 mm in total length. The handle has a width of 26.54 mm and a thickness of 6.64 mm.
