A partially disturbed hoard of Roman coins discovered whilst the finder was metal-detecting on cultivated land. The hoard was then excavated by Helen Fowler and Dr. Andrew Brown of the British Museum.
The hoard was contained within at least two Roman ceramic vessels, one inside the other and had been partly disturbed by the action of roots and agricultural machine…

A lump of lead whose function or use is uncertain. This unidentified object is also of uncertain date.
It weighs 42.19g, and currently has a sub-spherical to sub-cuboid form. Lead is a heavy but soft metal and it is therefore more probable that this artefact started as a sphere and has deformed to gain flatter sides under its own weight. Only one of the surfaces appears markedly different to the others. This has a depressed slot around less than half of the circumference. The slot has a width of 1.9mm and depth of 0.7mm.

This artefact weighs 2.90g. The proximal end, assumed to have originally terminated with a complete suspension loop is missing due to an irregular break. The artefact has an incomplete length of 24.8mm, maximum width of 21.7mm and thickness of 1.4mm, increasing to 3.6mm over the distal terminal. The body of the pendant has a rectangular cross-se…
