An incomplete Roman pierced debased silver coin. The inscription is illegible but it is probably a silver radiate of the joint reign of Valerian and Gallienus (AD 253-260), perhaps Gallienus with temple reverse cf RIC 10, Gallic mint. This coin has been pierced 1.2mm in from the edge of the flan at the 12 o'clock position when viewing the obverse side of the flan. This circular hole has a diameter of c.1.8mm.
