Post Medieval lead alloy shy cock in the shape of a cockerel. The flat figurine and it's thick oval base are a single cast piece. Shy cocks seem to have been a British phenomena that were popular from the late fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. This one is unusual as it appears to be decorated on both sides. Late Medieval to early Post Medieval lead alloy shield shaped pan weight. Equates to 60 drams or 3.7 ounces (almost 4 ounces or quarter a pound) under the ‘binary’ averdepois system. The decorated side consists of a crowned fleur-de-lis, surrounded by a recessed border approximately 5mm lower than the decorated area. The border is largely absent from the top edge of the weight. Post Medieval copper alloy finger ring in the form of a belt, probably a 'fairing' ring. Fairing rings were cheaply made finger rings given as prizes, or sold, at rural fairs, or sold by tinkers etc. Many are found at sites traditionally associated with fairs. Some of the bands decoration has been lost to corrosion. When new, fairing rings would have been polished up and made to appear golden in colour. They vary greatly in design. The matrix consists of a central forward facing stags head with cross between antlers surrounded by a circumferal legend reading, +TIMETE DEVM (Fear the Lord). The rear is undecorated. Fragment, probably one third, of a possible Iron Age to Early Medieval copper alloy strap distributor. It would originally have been circular in plan (see reconstructed image), and is flat in section. There is ring and dot decoration on one face. Suggested date range c400 BC to c1066 AD. Other suggestions for object type include fob dangler, openwork disc brooch, and even Early Medieval continental sun disc. Length 52mm, width 41mm, thickness 4mm, weight 14.9g. Post Medieval copper alloy spehrical suspended bell with an iron pea. This form of suspended bell is known colloquially as a crotal or rumbler. It is largely complete but heavily worn. In spite of the wear, it is still possible to discern the remains of the raised ridge around the centre and raised 'sunburst' decoration on the two hemispheres. Mid to Late Bronze Age casting gate or jets.The object consists of two conical sprues or flashes with a casting well that is a figure '8' in plan. Casting jets, such as this, are waste products which form at the top of a two-piece clay mould when the molten metal has filled the object-shaped void below and around the gate piece which had two conical apertures. Only one arm and the central section containing the perforation for the blade tang are present. The edge around the perforation is decorated with two pairs of four short raised vertical ridges. There is a further ridge where the guard arm joins. The arm ends in a collar and a spherical terminal knop. Dates to between c1350 to c1600 AD. Length 53mm, width 17mm, thickness 5mm, weight 13.53g.

A fragment of a copper alloy brooch. It is comprised of two distinctive elements. A traingular section forms the largest part, and in a square moulded in recess are cells formed by three dimaond shapes. A series of horizontal ribs then finishes the bottom of this across the narrow section. There is then a diamond shaped section at the bottom, point downwards, with a circular cell in the centre of this. It is likey that these cells would have contained enamel. Fragment of a brooch, possibly a Roman T shaped example. The is a copper alloy piece which is triangular both in secton and in plan. On the widest part there are the remains of two lugs or other fitment, represented as short stubs. Through the widest sides at the bottoem are drilled two holes, and a shaft is inserted into these. Behind the centre of this the main body is hollow, and a pin is fitted here around the shaft. The whole has an even brown patina, no decoration is apparant Dimensions: 9mm wide and 25mm long including the pin. It weighs 1.76g

A possible knife guard. It is moulded in copper alloy and is basically a sub rectangular shape. In the centre is a rectangular hole through which the blade of a small knife would have passed through. At either end the shape narrows to form the muzzles of a zoomorphic design.
