Late Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy 'latten' spoon handle. The bowl is lost which makes dating a bit more difficult. However, the utensil has a hexagonal stem and has been knopped with a figure of an apostle on a pedestal, a combination fashionable from the late fifteenth to early seventeenth century (F. G. Hilton Price, Old Base Metal Spoons, p.32, fig.16). The figure has broken off the stem but the breaks on the two parts match. Probably dates from c1450 to c1650 AD. Late Early Medieval to early Post Medieval perforated lead alloy weight. Probably a spindle whorl or net weight. It is circular in plan and sub-rectangular in section. It is undecorated. Without further context, it is not possible to closely date this lead weight. There appears to be old abraded damage to the weight, but the defect may have occurred at the casting stage as the object does not seem to have been manufactured with much care. It could date to anytime between c1000 and c1600 AD. Diameter of 24mm, thickness 5mm, perforation diameter 11mm, and the weight is 13.00g. The &quo…
